Content:The reading passages in the Academic IELTS are taken from books, journals, magazines, and newspapers, whereas the General Training IELTS features more real-world content.

Question Types:True/False/Not Given, multiple choice, sentence completion, matching headings, short-answer questions.

Preparation Tips:

Skim and scan passages to quickly locate answers.

Writing

Format:2 tasks, 60 minutes

Task 2 (Both):Write an essay in response to a point of view, argument, or problem.

Preparation Tips:

Speaking:

Format:3 parts, 11-14 minutes

Part 1:General questions about yourself and familiar topics.

Part 2:Speak on a specific topic for 2 minutes after 1 minute of preparation.

Part 3:More abstract questions related to Part 2 topic.

Preparation Tips:

Practice speaking on a range of topics and ensure fluency and coherence.

Repeat Sentence:Listen to a sentence and repeat it as accurately as possible.

Describe Image:An image (graph, chart, picture) will be shown, and you will have to describe it in detail.

Re-tell Lecture:You listen to a part of a lecture and then summarize it in your own words.

Multiple-choice, Multiple Answers:Select more than one correct answer.

Re-order Paragraphs:Drag and drop paragraphs in the correct order to form a logical sequence.

Fill in the Blanks:Insert words into blanks in a text based on context.

Reading & Writing: Fill in the Blanks:A more challenging version of filling blanks that assesses both reading and writing skills.

Preparation Tips:

Skim and scan texts to get a general understanding before answering questions.

Practice filling in blanks by improving vocabulary and understanding the context of words.

Develop a strategy for tackling multiple-choice questions and identifying key information quickly.
